Practice makes progress. And play makes practice!
From day one, bringing kids into the kitchen allows them to grow up learning the art of cook and baking (even cleaning). Yes, it may take longer to make something and it's definitely a whole lot messier at times, but it's where they learn the most.
If they're just starting out, pretend play is the best way to have them in the kitchen alongside you. Grab a bowl, hand them a whisk or wooden spoon, and let them mix some imaginary ingredients!
Below are a few more ideas to spark their imagination and get them used to practicing in the kitchen:
-Have them place cupcake liners in a cupcake tin.
-Practice with a rolling pin by placing a dish towel on the counter.
-They can practice the proper technique of cracking eggs with leftover plastic Easter eggs.
How do you let your little ones help in the kitchen?
